The Silicon Manganese Alloy is a robust fusion of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace elements, forming an iron alloy with remarkable versatility and significant production volume. It's the second most consumed ferroalloy in electric furnace products. The manganese and silicon elements exhibit a strong bond with oxygen, enhancing steelmaking with deoxidation, evidenced by melting points of 1270ºC and 1327ºC for the products MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4. Enjoy the benefits of low melting point, large particle formation, superior floatability, and efficient deoxidation. Separate deoxidation of manganese and silicon results in burn loss rates of 46% and 37% respectively, whereas using the silicon manganese alloy reduces it to 29%. This alloy is synthesized by concurrently reducing manganese ore, including manganese-rich slag, manganese oxide, and silica with carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
