Customized Silver Gray Silicon Barium Calcium Alloy in Steelmaking Industry Alloy
Calcium silicon alloy is a specialized compound alloy, meticulously crafted from the elements silicon, calcium, and iron. This ideal compound serves as a superior deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Today, calcium alloy is often used as a substitute for aluminum in the final deoxidation stages, making it indispensable in the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and unique alloys. Its applications extend to the manufacturing of rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, as well as specialty alloys like nickel-base and titanium alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys are pivotal as deoxidizers and desulfurizers in producing premium grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon possess a formidable chemical affinity for oxygen. Notably, Calcium exhibits a strong chemical affinity not just for oxygen, but also for sulfur and nitrogen. The steel industry alone accounts for approximately 90% of the global consumption of CaSi, underscoring its critical importance.
Beyond deoxidation and desulfurization, this alloy is instrumental in modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon adeptly controls the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel product, ultimately resulting in a superior steel composition.
