For instance, silicon carbide powder can be expertly applied to water turbine impellers or cylinders, significantly enhancing their wear resistance and prolonging their lifespan by 1 to 2 times. Furthermore, refractories crafted from silicon carbide exhibit remarkable heat shock resistance, compactness, lightweight strength, and an impressive energy-saving effect. The use of low-grade silicon carbide (approximately 85% SiC content) makes for an excellent deoxidizer, accelerating steel production, facilitating precise chemical composition control, and enhancing the quality of steel. Additionally, silicon carbide is a preferred material for manufacturing silicon carbide rods, integral to electric heating elements.
