Silicon Metal is an indispensable cornerstone of modern industry, revered as the "salt" of this era. With versatile applications that span across steel-making, cast iron production, aluminum manufacturing for aviation, aircraft, and automobile components, as well as silicon optoelectronic devices, its significance is unmatched. This extraordinary material is crafted through the smelting of quartz and coke in an advanced electric heating furnace, resulting in a product with a remarkable 98% silicon content. The remaining composition includes trace impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium, which are meticulously minimized to ensure superior quality.
The production journey of Silicon Metal begins in an electric heating furnace, where quartz and coke undergo a transformative redox reaction, yielding molten silicon. Upon cooling, this molten entity solidifies into substantial primal silicon metal lumps. These immense structures are then refined
into standardized smaller lumps, known for their consistent dimensions ranging from 10 to 100mm, ensuring ease of use and versatility.
Silicon Metal Lumps boast a striking silver-gray or dark gray hue, complemented by a reflective metallic luster. They are renowned for their high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, elevated resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance, making them an ideal choice for a myriad of industrial applications.
1) Silicon Metal is a cornerstone in the refractory material and power metallurgy industries, known for its remarkable ability to enhance heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as the fundamental raw material for creating high-performance organic silicon polymers.
3) Industrial silicon powder is sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, a pivotal component in the high-tech sector, essential for producing integrated circuits and electronic elements.
4) Within metallurgy and foundry industries, industrial silicon powder acts as a crucial iron base alloy additive and a key pharmaceutical component in silicon steel, significantly improving steel hardenability.
5) Silicon metal is integral to the production of advanced high-temperature materials.
