Ferro-Chrome with chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome', is derived from ore with a relatively lower chrome concentration. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, crafted from superior grade ore, is preferred in specialized applications like engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are indispensable.

Low-Carbon Ferro-Chrome is indispensable in the steel production process, ensuring accurate chrome content adjustments without altering carbon or trace element percentages. Additionally, it serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome, especially for high-performance super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
