Currently, calcium alloy is an excellent alternative to aluminum for final deoxidation, especially in producing high-quality steel, special steel, and specialized alloys such as rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, steel-nickel base alloys, and titanium alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys are pivotal in the steel industry as deoxidizers and desulfurizers, essential for manufacturing high-grade steel. Both calcium and silicon exhibit a robust chemical affinity for oxygen. Notably, calcium also has a pronounced affinity for sulfur and nitrogen, making it indispensable in the steel industry, which consumes around 90% of global CaSi production.
This alloy plays a crucial role in modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is instrumental in controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel.
