Calcium silicon alloy is a premium compound alloy comprised of silicon, calcium, and iron. This ideal compound serves as an exceptional deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Presently, calcium alloy can replace aluminum for final deoxidation, and is extensively applied in the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and specialized alloys such as rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel base alloys, titanium alloys, and other unique alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys act as superior deoxidizers and desulfurizers in the creation of high-grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon exhibit a powerful chemical attraction to oxygen. Particularly, Calcium shows a strong chemical affinity not only for oxygen but also for sulphur and nitrogen. The steel industry consumes approximately 90% of global CaSi output.
The alloy is also instrumental in the modification of non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is utilized to control the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel product.
