Silicon Metal is a crucial and versatile industrial product, pivotal in steel-making, cast iron production, and the fabrication of essential aluminum components for aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts. It also plays an indispensable role in the silicon optoelectronic device industry and numerous other sectors, earning its reputation as the 'salt' of modern industries. This remarkable product is crafted through the smelting of quartz and coke within an electric heating furnace. The primary component, silicon, boasts a purity of approximately 98%, with minimal impurities such as iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are meticulously manufactured in an electric heating furnace through the fusion of quartz and coke. During this process, quartz undergoes redox reactions, transforming into a molten silicon liquid. Upon cooling, it solidifies into what we recognize as primal silicon metal lumps. These initial large formations are skillfully processed
into smaller, standardized lumps, ensuring each piece meets the industry standard size range of 10-100mm.
This Silicon Metal is distinguished by its striking silver-gray or dark gray color, accompanied by a captivating metallic luster. It exhibits an exceptionally high melting point, remarkable heat resistance, excellent resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance, making it an ideal choice for demanding applications.
1) Silicon Metal is a crucial component extensively utilized in the refractory materials and power metallurgy industries. Its incorporation significantly enhances the heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance of diverse products.
2) In the realm of organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as a fundamental raw material for the synthesis of high polymers, forming the backbone of organic silicon development.
3) Industrial silicon powder undergoes a transformation into monocrystalline silicon, a pivotal substance in the high-tech sector. It is indispensable for the fabrication of integrated circuits and electronic components.
4) Within the metallurgy and foundry industries, industrial silicon powder is esteemed as an iron base alloy additive and the alloying agent of silicon steel, thereby significantly enhancing the hardenability of steel.
5) Silicon metal plays a vital role in the manufacturing of high-temperature materials, underscoring its versatility and indispensable nature in various advanced applications.
