Product Description
Steel production, particularly stainless steel manufacturing with chromium content ranging from 10% to 20%, stands as the primary consumer of Ferro Chrome.
Ferro-Chrome with a chromium content below 56%, termed 'charge chrome', is derived from lower-chrome ore. In contrast, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, extracted from higher grade ores, is preferred for specialized applications like engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and low levels of sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are critical.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production to adjust chromium levels without introducing undesirable carbon or trace elements. It serves as a cost-effective substitute for metallic chrome in super alloys and specialized melting applications.
