Calcium Silicon Alloy, an exceptional compound alloy composed of silicon, calcium, and iron, serves as an ideal compound deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Currently, calcium alloy can be utilized as a superior substitute for aluminum in final deoxidation processes. It is widely applied in the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and specialized alloys, including rail steel, low-carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel-base alloy, and titanium alloy.
Calcium Silicon Alloys are indispensable as deoxidizers and desulfurizers in the production of high-grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon exhibit a strong chemical affinity for oxygen, with Calcium also demonstrating a potent affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. Consequently, the steel industry accounts for approximately 90% of global CaSi consumption.
This versatile alloy also plays a crucial role in modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is instrumental in controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of steel products.
