Silicon Metal is a vital industrial product utilized in multiple sectors such as steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum manufacturing, including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts production. It also serves the silicon optoelectronic device industry among others. Often termed the 'salt' of modern industries, silicon metal is produced from quartz and coke using an electric heating furnace. The primary component, silicon, comprises about 98% of the total content, with remaining impurities including iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps are created in an electric heating furnace from quartz and coke. During the redox process, quartz transforms into molten silicon, which cools into solid form. Initially, the silicon metal lumps are very large.
These large lumps are then processed into smaller, standard-sized pieces, typically ranging from 10-100mm.
This material exhibits a silver-gray or dark gray hue with a metallic sheen. Its properties include a high melting point, excellent heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
1) Silicon Metal is extensively used in the refractory material and powder metallurgy industries, enhancing heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the realm of organic silicon chemistry, industrial silicon powder serves as a fundamental raw material in the formation of high polymer organic silicon compounds.
3) Sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, industrial silicon powder is critical in high-tech fields, forming an essential raw material for integrated circuits and electronic components.
4) In metallurgy and foundry, industrial silicon powder acts as an additive in iron-based alloys and silicon steel, improving steel hardenability.
5) Silicon metal is instrumental in the production of high-temperature materials.
Our core products include ferromanganese, metallic silicon, silicon carbon alloy, cored wire, ferrochrome, silicon manganese alloy, silicon carbide, ferrosilicon, silicon aluminum barium calcium, and silicon barium calcium. We also export refractory materials and other metallurgical products, offering processing services tailored to customer specifications.
Our facilities feature a 206 cubic meter blast furnace, two 12,500 kVA submerged arc furnaces, two 3,600 kVA refining furnaces, four medium frequency electric furnaces, and three production lines for cladding. We employ a manganese series hot charging and hot mixing system, ensuring a seamless, high-quality, high-yield, and low-consumption production process.
