Steel production, particularly in the stainless steel sector, consumes the majority of Ferro Chrome. This is essential for creating stainless steel with chromium concentrations ranging between 10% and 20%.

Ferro-Chrome with a chromium content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome,' is derived from chrome ore with lower chromium levels. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, sourced from premium-grade ore, is preferred for specialized applications, such as engineering steels, which demand a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium.

During steel manufacturing, Low-Carbon Ferro-Chrome is crucial for adjusting chrome levels without introducing unwanted carbon or trace elements. It serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome for super alloys and other specialized melting processes.
