Premium Customized FeCr Ferrochromium - Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
Steel production stands as the primary consumer of Ferro Chrome, particularly in the manufacturing of stainless steel that boasts a chromium content ranging between 10% and 20%.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56% is referred to as 'charge chrome,' produced from ore that contains a lower chrome percentage. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, made from higher grade ore, is predominantly utilized in specialized applications such as engineering steels where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of other elements like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are critical.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is pivotal during steel production for fine-tuning chrome percentages without altering the carbon or trace element percentages undesirably. It's also a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome for super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
