Customized Silver Gray Silicon Barium Calcium Alloy for the Steelmaking Industry
Our calcium silicon alloy, a superior compound consisting of silicon, calcium, and iron, excels as a compound deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Currently, it can replace aluminum for final deoxidation and is used in the production of high-quality steel, specialty steel, and unique alloys. Application examples include rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialized alloys such as nickel-base and titanium alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys serve as exceptional deoxidizers and desulfurizers in high-grade steel manufacturing. Both calcium and silicon exhibit a strong chemical affinity for oxygen. Notably, calcium also demonstrates a robust affinity for sulfur and nitrogen, making it invaluable in the steel industry, which accounts for about 90% of global CaSi consumption.
Additionally, this alloy is employed for modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is essential for controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the steel product's fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties.
