Customized Silver Gray Silicon Barium Calcium Alloy for the Steelmaking Industry
The Calcium Silicon Alloy is a remarkable compound alloy composed of silicon, calcium, and iron. This premier alloy serves as an exceptional deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. It is presently utilized as a superior alternative to aluminum for final deoxidation, particularly in the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and various specialty alloys. Applications include rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, titanium alloys, and other specialized alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys are indispensable as deoxidizers and desulfurizers in the manufacturing of high-grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon exhibit a strong chemical affinity for oxygen, with Calcium also showing a robust affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. The steel industry utilizes approximately 90% of the global Calcium Silicon (CaSi) consumption, underscoring its critical role.
This versatile alloy is also pivotal for modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is employed to meticulously control the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of steel products.
