Product Description


Ferrosilicon, an essential ferroalloy, is crafted by blending iron with silicon. This alloy is formed by skillfully smelting coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace. Known for its exceptional ability to combine with oxygen to create silicon dioxide, ferrosilicon is indispensable as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process. The formation of SiO2 releases significant heat, thus effectively elevating the molten steel's temperature during deoxidation. Additionally, ferrosilicon is utilized as a versatile alloying element additive, making it a crucial component in the production of low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel. Its role extends to serving as a reducing agent in ferroalloy manufacturing and various chemical industry applications.
