Ferrosilicon is an exceptional ferroalloy, skillfully crafted from a blend of ferro and silicon. This remarkable alloy is produced by smelting coke, steel scraps, and either quartz or silica in an electric furnace. Due to silicon's natural propensity to bind with oxygen to form silicon dioxide, ferrosilicon serves magnificently as a deoxidizer in the steelmaking process. The generation of SiO2 releases a substantial amount of heat, which not only aids in increasing the temperature of molten steel during deoxidation but also enhances efficiency. Additionally, ferrosilicon is an indispensable alloying element additive, widely employed across various steel types including low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel.
