Silicon Metal stands as a cornerstone of modern industries, playing a pivotal role in steel-making, cast iron, aluminum production (including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts), and silicon optoelectronic devices, among various other sectors. Renowned as the 'salt' of advanced industries, silicon metal is crafted from quartz and coke through the sophisticated smelting process in electric arc furnaces. The primary component, silicon, constitutes about 98%, with trace impurities of iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lumps originate from the meticulous smelting of quartz and coke in electric arc furnaces. The redox reaction transforms quartz into molten silicon liquid, which solidifies upon cooling. Initially large, these silicon lumps are then processed
into standard-sized lumps, typically ranging from 10 to 100mm.
Boasting a silver-gray or dark-gray hue with a metallic sheen, Silicon Metal is distinguished by its high melting point, excellent heat resistance, substantial resistivity, and outstanding oxidation resistance.
1) Widely utilized in refractory materials and power metallurgy industries, Silicon Metal enhances heat resistance, wear resistance, and oxidation resistance.
2) In the organic silicon chemical sector, industrial silicon powder serves as the fundamental raw material for synthesizing high polymers of organic silicon.
3) Sublimated into monocrystalline silicon, industrial silicon powder is indispensable in high-tech fields, providing essential raw material for integrated circuits and electronic components.
4) In metallurgy and foundry, industrial silicon powder acts as a crucial additive for iron-based alloys and silicon steel formulations, significantly improving steel hardenability.
5) Silicon Metal is also critical in the production of high-temperature materials.
Our diverse portfolio includes ferromanganese, metallic silicon, silicon carbon alloy, cored wire, ferrochrome, silicon manganese alloy, silicon carbide, ferrosilicon, silicon aluminum barium calcium, and silicon barium calcium, among others. We also specialize in the export of refractory materials and other metallurgical products, with customization options available to meet specific customer requirements.
Our state-of-the-art facilities feature one 206-cubic-meter blast furnace, two 12,500 kVA submerged arc furnaces, two 3,600 kVA refining furnaces, four medium-frequency electric furnaces, and three advanced cladding line production lines.
