Silicon Metal is an indispensable industrial marvel, extensively utilized in steel-making, cast iron, and aluminum industries, including aviation, aircraft, and automobile parts production. It also finds applications in silicon optoelectronic devices and numerous other sectors, earning the title of the "salt" of modern industries. Silicon Metal is crafted by smelting quartz and coke in an electric heating furnace, resulting in a product with approximately 98% silicon content. The remaining impurities include iron, aluminum, and calcium.
Silicon Metal lump is produced in electric heating furnaces using quartz and coke. Through a redox reaction, quartz transforms into molten silicon, which solidifies upon cooling to form the large primal silicon metal lumps.
These large primal silicon metal lumps are then processed into smaller, standardized sizes ranging from 10-100mm.
Characterized by its silver-gray or dark gray hue and metallic luster, Silicon Metal boasts a high melting point, exceptional heat resistance, high resistivity, and superior oxidation resistance.
