Customized FeCr Ferrochromium with Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
Steel production is the predominant consumer of Ferro Chrome, particularly in producing stainless steel with a chromium content ranging from 10 to 20%. This ensures durability and resistance to corrosion, making it vital for various high-performance applications.
Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome,' is derived from lower-grade chrome ore. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, made from higher-grade ore, is essential for specialized applications like engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are critical.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is integral in steel production to adjust chrome percentages without altering the carbon or trace elements significantly. It is a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome, especially in super alloys and other specialized melting applications, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
