Calcium silicon alloy, a sophisticated compound alloy comprising silicon, calcium, and iron, serves as the ideal compound deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. Currently, calcium alloy can substitute aluminum for final deoxidation. It caters to the production of high-quality steel, special steel, and unique alloys, including rail steel, low carbon steel, stainless steel, and special nickel or titanium alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys play a crucial role as deoxidizer and desulfurizer in manufacturing premium-grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon exhibit a potent chemical affinity for oxygen. Notably, calcium also shows a robust affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. The steel industry constitutes approximately 90% of global CaSi consumption, highlighting its indispensable role.
This alloy is instrumental in modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon controls the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of steel products.
