Product Description

Ferrosilicon is a premium ferro alloy composed of iron and silicon, crafted through smelting coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace. This versatile alloy is renowned for its role as a deoxidizer in steelmaking, capitalizing on the ease with which silicon and oxygen combine to form silicon dioxide. The exothermic reaction of SiO2 formation not only deoxidizes but also elevates the temperature of molten steel, enhancing the overall efficiency of the process. Beyond deoxidation, ferrosilicon serves as an essential alloying element additive, finding extensive applications in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel. Furthermore, ferrosilicon is a key reducing agent in the production of ferroalloys and is widely utilized in the chemical industry.
