Tailor-Made FeCr Ferrochromium: Low Carbon Ferro Chrome
Steel manufacturing, particularly stainless steel production with a chromium concentration of 10-20%, is the predominant user of Ferro Chrome.
Ferro-Chrome with a chromium content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome', is derived from lower-grade chrome ore. On the other hand, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, produced from superior-grade ore, is frequently utilized in specialized applications such as engineering steels. Here, a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal presence of impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production for adjusting chromium levels without introducing undesirable carbon or trace element variations. It also serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting processes.
