Silicon manganese alloy is ingeniously crafted from manganese, silicon, iron, with a trace of carbon and other elements, forming a highly versatile and widely utilized iron alloy. Ranking second in consumption among electric furnace ferroalloy products, this alloy's robust affinity of manganese and silicon with oxygen makes it indispensable in steelmaking. The resultant deoxidation with products mnsio3 and mn2sio4 boasts melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC respectively, offering advantages such as a low melting point, substantial particles, easy buoyancy, and effective deoxidation. Notably, the individual deoxidation burning loss rates for manganese or silicon stand at 46% and 37%, while the combined manganese silicon alloy deoxidation exhibits a reduced rate of 29%. Produced by simultaneously reducing manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag), manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide in a submerged arc furnace with carbon, silicon manganese alloy offers a sophisticated solution.
