Our Silicon Calcium Barium Alloy stands as a cutting-edge, highly efficient composite alloy in the barium series. Not only does it serve as a robust deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking, but it also excels in dephosphorization (BaP2, BaP3). Furthermore, it acts as an exceptional inoculant and modifier in casting, ensuring superior metallurgical properties.
Barium within this alloy significantly reduces the vapor pressure of calcium across the varying temperature ranges in steelmaking, thereby increasing the solubility of calcium in molten steel. Compared to silicon calcium alloys, utilizing our silicon calcium barium alloy as the calcium source ensures that even with half the calcium addition, the calcium content within the steel liquid is about double. This results in a marked improvement in the stability of calcium in the molten steel. Essentially, barium effectively safeguards the calcium, reducing its oxidation, and guaranteeing optimal treatment of calcium in the molten steel.
