Calcium silicon alloy, a sophisticated compound alloy composed of silicon, calcium, and iron, stands as an essential deoxidizer and desulfurization agent. This superior alloy can replace aluminum for final deoxidation, making it indispensable in the production of high-grade steel, special steel, and unique alloys. It finds applications in the production of rail and low carbon steel, stainless steel, steel and nickel-based alloys, titanium alloys, and other specialized alloys.
Calcium Silicon Alloys serve as pivotal deoxidizers and desulfurizers in manufacturing high-grade steel. Both Calcium and Silicon exhibit a strong chemical affinity for oxygen, with Calcium additionally showing a robust affinity for sulfur and nitrogen. Remarkably, the steel industry consumes about 90% of global CaSi, underscoring its critical role in steel production.

This versatile alloy also plays a crucial role in modifying non-metallic inclusions. Calcium Silicon is instrumental in controlling the shape, size, and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions, thereby enhancing the fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the steel product.
