Our Silicon Manganese Alloy is a meticulously engineered composition of manganese, silicon, iron, and trace amounts of carbon, along with other elements. This ferroalloy stands as a vital component in the industry due to its widespread application and substantial production volume. It ranks second among electric furnace ferroalloy products in consumption. The manganese and silicon components exhibit a strong affinity for oxygen, making this alloy highly effective in steelmaking. The deoxidation byproducts, MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4, possess melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC, respectively, offering benefits of low melting point, substantial particle size, buoyancy, and impressive deoxidation efficiency. When compared, the burning loss rates of separate manganese or silicon deoxidation are 46% and 37%, respectively, while the manganese silicon alloy achieves a reduction to 29%. This alloy is produced by simultaneous reduction of manganese ore (inclusive of manganese-rich slag), manganese oxide, and silicon dioxide in silica using carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
