Product Description
Steel manufacturing, particularly stainless steel production with chromium contents ranging from 10 to 20%, is the primary consumer of Ferro Chrome.
Ferro-Chrome with less than 56% chrome content, referred to as 'charge chrome,' is derived from lower-grade chrome ores. In contrast, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, sourced from superior ore, is preferred for specialized applications such as engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurities like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steelmaking for fine-tuning chrome levels without undesirable carbon or trace element fluctuations. It also serves as a cost-effective substitute for metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
