Customized Silicon Calcium Barium Alloy for Exceptional Steel Casting as a Deoxidizer
Silicon Calcium Barium Alloy is a cutting-edge, highly efficient composite alloy in the barium series, engineered for use as a superior deoxidizer and desulfurizer in steelmaking. Beyond these primary functions, it also excels as a dephosphorizer (BaP2, BaP3). This remarkable alloy serves as both an inoculant and modifier in casting applications, ensuring high-performance results.
Barium significantly lowers the vapor pressure of calcium within the high-temperature environment of steelmaking, enhancing the solubility of calcium in molten steel. In comparison to silicon calcium alloy, Silicon Calcium Barium Alloy, when used as a calcium source, approximately doubles the calcium content in molten steel, even when half the amount is used. This improved calcium retention and stability result from barium's protective effect, reducing calcium oxidation and optimizing calcium treatment in molten steel.
