Minerals Metallurgy Ferrochromium Alloy Fecr Ferrochrome High-Carbon Ferro Chrome
Steel production is the predominant use for Ferro Chrome, especially in crafting stainless steel with chromium content between 10% and 20%. This high-demand application makes it an indispensable component in the metallurgical industry.
Ferro-Chrome with chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome', is derived from ores with lower chrome content. High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, on the other hand, is extracted from superior quality ore. It is favored in specialized applications, including engineering steels, due to its high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal impurity levels like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium.
Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is crucial in steel production to adjust chrome levels without altering carbon or trace elements significantly. It offers a cost-effective substitute to metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting processes.
