Refractory materials crafted from silicon carbide exhibit outstanding resistance to thermal shock, compact size, lightweight nature, high strength, and notable energy-saving effects. Additionally, low-grade silicon carbide, containing about 85% SiC, serves as an exceptional deoxidizer in steelmaking, expediting the process while enabling precise chemical composition control and enhancing steel quality. Furthermore, silicon carbide's versatility is showcased in its widespread use for manufacturing silicon carbide rods used in electric heating elements.
