High Purity Femn65si17 Silicon Manganese Alloy for Steel Production
The Silicon Manganese Alloy is a meticulously crafted fusion of manganese, silicon, iron, with traces of carbon and other elements. This widely-used iron alloy ranks second in consumption among ferroalloy products produced in electric furnaces. Both manganese and silicon within the alloy exhibit a robust affinity for oxygen, making it an exceptional deoxidizer in steelmaking processes. The deoxidation by-products, MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4, have melting points of 1270 ºC and 1327 ºC, respectively. These attributes bestow the alloy with a low melting point, significantly sized particles, swift floating, and superior deoxidation efficiency. Notably, the alloy's deoxidation process results in a reduced burning loss rate of 29%, compared to 46% and 37% when manganese or silicon are used separately. The production process involves the reduction of manganese ore (including manganese-rich slag) and the simultaneous reduction of manganese oxide and silicon dioxide in silica with carbon in a submerged arc furnace.
