Product Description

 

The production of steel, especially stainless steel with a chromium content of 10-20%, stands as the largest consumer of Ferro Chrome.

Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content below 56%, known as 'charge chrome', is derived from lower grade chrome ore. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, made from higher grade ore, is predominant in specialized applications such as engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of other elements like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are crucial.

Low-carbon Ferro-Chrome is essential in steel production for adjusting chrome percentages, avoiding undesirable variations in carbon and trace elements. Additionally, it serves as a cost-effective alternative to metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
