Product Description

Ferrosilicon is a remarkable ferroalloy crafted from a fusion of iron and silicon. This ingenious alloy, produced from coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace, serves a dual purpose. Its ability to synthesize with oxygen into silicon dioxide makes it an ideal deoxidizer in steelmaking. Additionally, the exothermic reaction during SiO2 formation elevates molten steel temperatures, enhancing the overall process. Ferrosilicon also shines as an alloying element additive, finding its place in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel, and electrical silicon steel. Its versatility extends to being a reducing agent, vital for both ferroalloy production and the chemical industry.
