Steel manufacturing stands as the primary consumer of Ferro Chrome, particularly stainless steel production, which necessitates a chromium content ranging from 10% to 20%.

Ferro-Chrome with a chrome content under 56%, referred to as 'charge chrome,' is derived from lower-grade chrome ore. Conversely, High Carbon Ferro-Chrome, sourced from superior grade ore, is predominantly utilized in specialized applications such as engineering steels, where a high Cr to Fe ratio and minimal levels of elements like sulfur, phosphorus, and titanium are essential.

During steel production, Low-Carbon Ferro-Chrome is employed to adjust chrome percentages without introducing undesirable variations in carbon or trace elements. Additionally, it serves as a cost-effective substitute for metallic chrome in super alloys and other specialized melting applications.
