Ferromanganese is classified based on its smelting method into two types: electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese.
Based on carbon content, ferromanganese is categorized into three distinct classes:

Low-carbon category: Featuring a carbon content not exceeding 0.7%;
Medium-carbon category: Defined by a carbon content ranging between 0.7% and 2.0%;
High-carbon category: Characterized by a carbon content spanning from 2.0% to 8.0%.
