Ferrosilicon is a remarkable ferroalloy, expertly crafted by combining iron and silicon. This vital alloy, produced through the smelting of essential ingredients like coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) in an electric furnace, is crucial for modern metallurgy. Thanks to the chemistry between silicon and oxygen, ferrosilicon serves as an ideal deoxidizer in steelmaking, enhancing purity and performance. The exothermic reaction of SiO2 formation adds beneficial heat, elevating molten steel temperatures for optimal processing.
